PAP10 Abel Sonata in D minor No. 5 K.148 for Double Bass and Continuo This music, originally scored for viola de gamba, was written by C.F. Abel. Abel was the last great representative of the tradition of virtuoso gamba playing which has continued for three hundred years. This German gambist was born into a family which had for many generations been associated with viol performance.
