In a children’s book by Tilde Michels Zoppo Trump is the antagonist of Kalle Wirsch, the little king of the “Erdmannchen.” The novel describes a journey to the inner earth where the protagonists meet on the occasion of a decisive competition.
The present composition Zoppo Trmp for four double basses has been influenced by the images of the novel only in an associative way. The imaginary scenes are at the beginning of the composition of three movements and become independent in the course of the piece. Zoppo Trump has been composed for the CD Voyage of the ensemble Bassiona Amorosa.
