Description
“Double Bass Quartet” was written in 1987 by Dave Anderson. As the title states this is a work for four Double Bass players. Mvt. 1 = Wedding Music I; Mvt. 2 = Rondo/Dance; Mvt. 3 = Recitative: Mvt. 4 = Wedding Music II; Mvt. 5 = Finale. The composer writes: “This is the first bass ensemble piece I wrote. It has 5 movements and all parts are basically equal and advanced. Basses 1 and 4 MUST have a low C (or B) extension. The official premiere was in Louisville in 1988 and received high acclaim at the Chamber Music Festival at Indiana University in 1993.”
