Bradetich Foundation
The Bradetich Foundation strives to advance and cultivate a prominent international presence for double bassists, and to command high performance standards and opportunities through solo competitions, educational outreach and cross-cultural connections. The Foundation was established in 2008 with the sole purpose of advancing the performing, teaching, and knowledge of the double bass. It represents the vision of founder Jeff Bradetich and the culmination of his 40+ years of service to the profession.
International Society of Bassists
The ISB was founded by the world-renowned virtuoso Gary Karr in 1967. With some 3,000 members in over 40 countries, the ISB is an organization for those who teach, study, play, repair, build and enjoy the double bass. The ISB is a forum for communication among bassists throughout the world and across a wide variety of musical styles. Members receive their journal, Bass World, three times per year. Every two years the ISB holds an international convention and double bass competition, a composition contest, and now, a makers competition.
NAMM Foundation
The NAMM Foundation celebrates and promotes the intrinsic value of music education. The NAMM Foundation advances active participation in music making across the lifespan by supporting scientific research, philanthropic giving and public service programs. A supporting organization of NAMM, the NAMM Foundation is funded by NAMM Members through trade association activities and private donations.
D'Addario Foundation
The D’Addario Foundation is a unique 501c3 non-profit grant-making organization providing monetary and product support to high-quality sustainable music instruction programs on the frontline to improve access to music education. They support programs that bring music back into communities and schools and get kids playing as early and as frequently as possible. The D'Addario Foundation believes in the transformative power of music and that mentoring and building communities through music can positively affect social change.
Preservation Hall Foundation
Since its founding in 1961, Preservation Hall has been dedicated to preserving New Orleans musical traditions. From its inception, founders Allan and Sandra Jaffe fostered a community of inclusion, committed to the preservation of New Orleans Jazz and to caring for elder musicians. Normally, more than 150,000 visitors attend memorable shows with the 60 musicians who make up the Hall’s Musical Collective, 360 nights each year, at 726 St. Peter Street. While the building may not have changed much over its history, the Hall ensures that musical traditions are revered and celebrated, while allowing it to breathe and evolve with the contributions of subsequent generations, and raise up those who play and appreciate it.
Street Symphony
Street Symphony is a Los Angeles-based nonprofit organization that brings music to homeless and incarcerated communities through workshops, events, and one-on-one musical instruction. These musical programs are held at Skid Row clinics, homeless shelters, permanent supportive housing agencies, and LA County jails.
Zuggy Etc.
Zuggy Etc. was born from the vision that members of the special needs’ community deserve to have something of their own to work towards and be proud of. They wish to engage these individuals to take pride and a sense of ownership in something they can build together while creating employment opportunities for them and their friends. Each featured artist of the month will create their designs, then choose the project or charity they wish to support for their assigned month. Next, they will select the shirt type, color, and style for production. Once the shirts are printed, they go back to their special team for sorting, packing and shipping.
Silverlake Conservatory of Music
Silverlake Conservatory of Music’s mission is to facilitate a dynamic music education and to teach beginning and accomplished musicians of all skill levels. Their primary focus is on the youth of the community, but all are welcome and encouraged to participate. They offer private music lessons on all orchestral and band instruments including voice, as well as a variety of ensemble classes, performances and recitals. Their goal is to keep their standard of teaching at the highest level while maintaining a friendly, fun and nurturing environment..
New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Foundation, Inc.
The New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival and Foundation, Inc. promotes, preserves, perpetuates, and encourages the music, culture and heritage of communities in Louisiana through festivals, programs, and other cultural, educational, civic, and economic activities. Sphinx Organization
Sphinx Organization is a social justice organization dedicated to transforming lives through the power of diversity in the arts. Our four program areas – Education & Access, Artist Development, Performing Artists, and Arts Leadership – form a pipeline that develops and supports diversity and inclusion in classical music at every level: creative youth development, artist empowerment, and career advancement, administrative leadership, as well as service to the field.
Jazz House Kids
Jazz House Kids provides inspiring, professional jazz music instruction and education to children from all backgrounds, raising their motivation and academic performance to build a vibrant community & a robust future for America’s home-grown music. Jazz House Kids has gained a reputation as one of the nation’s preeminent arts education and performance organizations. Now in its 15th year, its mission is to transform young lives and open doors to the future by offering pre-professional, year-round musical training along with community engagement and education programs for K-12 students from diverse backgrounds.
The Bass Shed Academy
The Bass Shed Academy is a non-profit educational organization dedicated to fostering the knowledge of the double bass and the electric bass. Through private instruction, concerts, recitals, and masterclasses; The Bass Shed Academy is devoted to advancing the craft and artistry of all bassists.
