Catalina Teatro Carved Wood Bass is a Lemur Music Exclusive design. Catalina has been in production for more than 10 years and is the larger sister to 3/4 Tosca and 5/8 Venice. All three are made with traditional Italian Styling in proportions, materials, and craftsmanship. Catalina has a spruce top, maple back and sides, with a matte oil varnish, hand-rubbed to a nice luster. Fingerboards are meaty and thick, so we can setup this bass for any type of play you prefer. With orchestra strings and a taller bridge Catalina can deliver the projection and harmonics you need for section work. The 7/8 size body resonates well in the fundamentals of course, but the top has also been graduated to deliver a balanced mid-range for more lyrical jazz work, too.
